littered homes
Our mid-year project for second year was to raise awareness to the Climate Emergency. Following lectures and interviewing people with backgrounds in science, I opted to focus on the smaller picture to draw our attention to the bigger picture. And literally speaking, I took my camera around London’s greenspaces and spent a good day crouching and photographing the areas that the public don’t see too much (or rather see so much that they become desensitised to it). I kept an eye out for any signs of life in the undergrowth and captured where the critters were living amongst human litter. I created four paintings from these paintings.
Meanwhile, my “bigger picture” was the importance of rewilding, and how humans and wildlife need to live in harmony- I proposed a children’s picture book as part of my submission.
